Bonsai Carmona - Fukien Tea Tree

Commonly known as the Fukien Tea Tree, Carmona is a classic indoor bonsai with small, glossy leaves dotted with tiny white speckles. It produces delicate white flowers throughout the year when conditions are right, followed by small berry-like fruit. Its naturally compact growth and textured trunk give it a mature, tree-like appearance even at a small size, making it a popular choice for beginners and collectors alike.

☀️ - Prefers bright, indirect light. A warm windowsill with filtered light is perfect. It can tolerate some gentle morning sun, but strong midday sun may scorch the leaves.

💧 - Keep the soil evenly damp, when the top layer of the soil is dry, water from the bottom and allow soil to absorb moisture. 

🌡️ - Ideal temperatures are 18-24°C. Carmona doesn’t appreciate cold draughts and sudden temperature drops. Keep it away from open windows in winter and avoid placing it near radiators. Moderate to higher humidity helps prevent leaf drop.

🪴 - Use a free-draining bonsai soil mix. Repot every 1-2 years in spring, trimming the roots lightly to maintain structure.
