How To Care Zamioculcas Zamiifolia

Zamioculcas Zamiifolia

☀️ - ZZ is happy anywhere as long as you have a window in the room. Closer to the window she will thrive, further away she might have slightly leggy growth.

💧 - Allow one month between each watering, then deeply water through. You can cut back to every 5-6 weeks over the colder months.

🌡️ - Maintain temperatures between 15-30°C. Avoid cold drafts or frost, which can cause leaf drop.

🪴 - Repot every 2-3 years with a well-draining, peat-free mix.

🐾 - Toxic to pets.

Zamioculcas Zamiifolia, commonly known as the ZZ Plant, is a hardy and low-maintenance house plant prized for its glossy, waxy leaves and architectural growth habit. Native to the arid regions of Eastern Africa, it has adapted to thrive in low-light and drought-prone conditions, making it a favorite for homes and offices.

Place your ZZ Plant in bright, indirect light for optimal growth, though it tolerates low-light conditions exceptionally well. Avoid prolonged hot sunlight, which can scorch its leaves. Keep it in temperatures between 18–26°C, and protect it from cold draughts or temperatures below 10°C.

Water once a month. ZZ Plants store water in their rhizomes, making them drought-tolerant and susceptible to root rot if overwatered. In winter, we recommend you water every 5-6 weeks. This plant doesn’t require high humidity, so it thrives in standard indoor conditions.

Repot every 2–3 years, or when the plant becomes root-bound. Use a well-draining, peat-free potting mix, and choose a pot with drainage holes to prevent waterlogging.
