This exuberant and irresistible plant is also known as the Philippine Orchid or Rose Grape. She is a lovely, easy to care for houseplant. The leaves are thick, leathery and bright green and they grow large, pendulous clusters of pink flowers that emerge from glossy, ribbed leaves. This is a statement plant that needs to be a focal point to show off her chandelier like flowers.
☀️ - Prefers bright, indirect light. Too much direct sun will scorch the leaves, while low light can prevent flowering. A bright spot with filtered light, such as near an east- or north-facing window, is ideal.
💧 - During the warmer months, water thoroughly when the top few centimetres of soil feel dry, allowing excess water to drain completely. Keep the soil lightly moist during the growing and flowering season, but reduce watering after blooming and during winter rest. Avoid cold or hard water.
🌡️ - Thrives in warm, humid conditions between 18-26°C. Protect from draughts and sudden temperature changes. Prefers higher humidity so position away from radiators and consider grouping with other tropical plants.
🪴 - Use a free-draining, airy, peat-free mix similar to that for orchids or aroids, a blend of bark, perlite, and houseplant soil is recommended. Repot in spring every 2-3 years or when rootbound, moving up only one pot size.
🐾 - Pet friendly.
