Alocasia Zebrina
Exciting green plant with large and deep glossy green leaves on characteristic tall zebra-patterned stems. Alocasia is native to Asian tropical forests and thus loves humidity and rich soil.
Note: Alocasia leaves sweat and secrete small droplets by the water accumulating in the plant and causing a slight overpressure in the root. This pushes the water out as small drops from the leaves. This is a sign of health for the plant, but the drops leave stains on furniture and floors where it stands.
Size: 14cm nursery pot

Light - Enjoys bright, indirect light. Be aware that this plant does not do well in low light or direct sun.
Water - During the cold months allow the top soil to dry out between watering. Water deeply and avoid the plant sitting in water in the pot. A humidifier would be ideal, but mist frequently and often. She will go dormant over winter, place her in a warm environment and cut back on water.
Temperature - She prefers a warm and humid environment as it is a tropical plant. Ideally with temperatures between 18-29 degrees. Avoid cold draught and drastic drop in temperature.
Repot - Repot once the roots are visible from the drainage holes, in a rich, well-draining soil.
Toxicity - Toxic to pets.
