Drosera Capensis | Cape Sundew
☀️ - This carnivorous plant loves full sun. A north facing windowsill will not provide enough light. Place on a sunny window sill or in a location that gets full sun.
💧 - Do not allow the soil to dry out, you want to keep the compost wet. Bottom water a little every day preferably with rain water. If you are unable to use rain water then soft or distilled water would be ok. During winter just keep it damp.
🌡️ - Prefers 21-35C. During winter the plant will handle cooler temperatures as low as 5C.
🪴 - Does not need repotting until the roots are clearly visible from the drainage holes. Only repot in March/April after its dormancy period and select a rich soil designed for carnivorous plants.
🐾 - Pet friendly.

Also called Cape Sundew, originating from South Africa, has slender green leaves with bright red gland stalks. These are mobile and will roll up as its victims get stuck to the “dew”. This dew glistens in the sun and makes the plant look so innocent, but is excellent for catching small black flies, mosquitos and other small bugs. If you have fungal gnats at home, place the Cape Sundew next to other houseplants for it to feast on.
