Schlumbergera - Christmas Cactus
☀️ - In their natural habitat these cacti don’t like direct sun, but do still develop stunning hues. Keeping them in indirect light or partial shade some morning sun is advised. Intense evening sun can leave burn marks on the leaves.
💧 - When you water your Schlumbergera, little but frequent is the best suggestion. Don’t let it dry out too much and she does love high humidity.
🌡️ - She prefers warm summer temperatures but over winter it will benefit your plant to have a cool night temperature of 8-10°C, flowers will bloom better. Central heating is not known to affect the plant, but be aware of the soil drying out too quickly.
🪴 - Wait until spring and repot after flowering. Make sure the soil is slightly dry and remove as much as you can, use a well-draining but rich succulent soil and moisten lightly.

A very popular cactus with a long history. This arching plant is easy to care for and produces lovely little buds that flower just in time for Christmas with long lasting blooms. The leaves are small, flat but round in shape with small serrations on the edges. The flower grows from the tip of the leaves.
Did you know that Schlumbergera is also called November Cactus or Christmas Cactus across the world. She has been around in Europe since the 1800. In Norway, she is often passed down through generations or gifted as cuttings to close friends. We think that is adorable!
