FAQs

Do I need an appointment? No. Just drop in during opening hours and we'll take it from there.

Can I bring my own pot? Yes, absolutely. Just check it has drainage holes and is a good size for your plant, if you're unsure, bring it along and we'll advise.

How long does it take? Most repots take around 10–20 minutes. For larger plants or multiple pots, we may ask you to leave your plant with us for a short while and collect her once she's done.

Can you repot very large plants? Yes. For anything going into a pot 35cm or above, we'll assess the size and work involved in-store and give you a quote on the spot.

Do prices include soil? They do. Every plant gets a soil mix chosen specifically for her needs, no one-size-fits-all approach here.

Do you treat pests? We can clean up roots and remove old soil as part of the repotting process, but if your plant has a more serious pest issue it's usually better to treat that first. We'll take a look and let you know the best approach.

How do I check my plant for pests before coming in? Please inspect your plant carefully before your visit. Check under leaves and along stems for bugs or eggs, look out for sticky residue or fine webbing, and have a look at the soil surface for anything unusual. If you do spot pests, please treat at home before bringing your plant in, this keeps our shop plants safe and healthy for everyone.

A Note on Root Shock

Repotting is one of the kindest things you can do for a plant, but even handled with great care, disturbing a root system can cause a little temporary stress. You might notice yellowing leaves, drooping, some leaf drop, or slower growth in the days following a repot, this is completely normal and most plants recover well with the right aftercare.

How quickly a plant bounces back depends on its age, species, and overall health. By using our repotting service, you're acknowledging that some short-term stress can be a natural part of the process. We'll always send your plant home with aftercare guidance to give her the very best chance to settle in and thrive.
