Aglaonema ‘Tricolor’ is a striking foliage plant with camouflage-patterned leaves in different shades of green, sometimes with silvery or creamy tones. Originally from Southeast Asia, she brings something a little different to an indoor plant collection. She likes warmth, indirect light and a little consistency with watering.
☀️ Light
Bright, indirect light is ideal. She can tolerate some shade, but avoid strong direct sunshine, which can scorch her leaves.
💧 Watering
Water when the top couple of inches of compost have dried out. Give her a thorough drink and allow excess water to drain away. She prefers lightly moist compost during active growth but doesn't like sitting in water. Reduce watering in winter.
🌡️ Temperature & Humidity
Keep her warm, ideally around 18-27°C. She appreciates higher humidity, so avoid very dry spots near radiators and protect her from cold draughts.
🪴 Potting
Use a light, free-draining houseplant compost. A mix with added perlite helps prevent the roots from staying too wet.
✂️ Pruning
Remove yellow or damaged leaves at the base using clean scissors.
🌿 Growing Tips
She is relatively slow growing, so don't worry if new leaves take their time. Avoid sudden changes in temperature and watering, and wipe her leaves gently to keep them free of dust.
🐾 Not Pet Friendly
Aglaonema contains calcium oxalates and is harmful to cats and dogs if eaten.
