Calathea roseopicta ‘Jessy’

Calathea ‘Jessy’ is a striking foliage plant with decorative leaves patterned in contrasting shades of green. Calatheas originate from the tropical forests of Central and South America, where they grow beneath the forest canopy in warm, humid conditions. She brings plenty of leafy character to your home and appreciates a little extra attention to her watering and humidity.

☀️ Light
Bright, indirect light is ideal. Avoid direct sunshine, which can fade her markings and scorch her leaves. She can tolerate lower light, although growth may slow.

💧 Watering
Keep the compost lightly moist, allowing the surface to begin drying between waterings. Avoid letting her dry out completely or sitting in water. Rainwater or filtered water is a good choice, as Calatheas can be sensitive to minerals in tap water.

She prefers temperatures around 18-27°C and high humidity. Keep her away from cold draughts, radiators and sudden temperature changes.

Use a moisture-retentive but well-draining houseplant compost in a pot with drainage holes.

Remove yellow or damaged leaves close to the base with clean scissors.
