Epipremnum pinnatum ‘Aureum’ is a climbing tropical houseplant with green foliage that can develop golden-yellow variegation in good light. She looks lovely trailing from a shelf or climbing a moss pole, where her leaves may grow larger as she matures. She’s an adaptable plant that’s easy to care for, making her a great addition to a houseplant collection.

☀️ Light

Light, indirect light is ideal and helps maintain her golden variegation. She can tolerate lower light, but growth may slow and the leaves may become greener. Avoid strong direct sunshine, which can scorch her foliage.

💧 Watering

Water when the top couple of centimetres of compost feel dry. Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain away. Avoid leaving her sitting in water, and reduce watering during the cooler winter months.

🌡️ Temperature & Humidity

She prefers temperatures around 18-27°C and appreciates moderate to high humidity. Average household humidity is usually fine, but keep her away from cold draughts and sudden temperature changes.

🪴 Potting

Use a loose, well-draining houseplant compost. Adding perlite and orchid bark can improve airflow around the roots. Choose a pot with drainage holes. If you’d like her to climb, provide a moss pole or another suitable support.

✂️ Pruning

Trim back long or untidy stems to keep her in shape and encourage fuller growth. Healthy stem cuttings with at least one node can be rooted to grow new plants.

🌿 Growing Tips

Give her something to climb if you want larger, more mature leaves as she grows. Wipe the foliage occasionally to remove dust, and feed with a balanced houseplant fertiliser during spring and summer, following the product instructions.

🐾 Not Pet Friendly

Epipremnum pinnatum contains insoluble calcium oxalates and is toxic to cats and dogs if chewed or eaten.
