Commonly known as the Variegated Hindu Rope Plant, is a striking trailing houseplant loved for its thick, twisted, rope-like leaves marbled with creamy whites and soft pink tones. A nostalgic “Wax plant”, it’s prized for its unusual sculptural form and its ability to produce clusters of delicate, porcelain-like fragrant flowers when mature.
☀️- She thrives in bright, indirect light. Variegation needs good light to stay vibrant, so a spot near filtered sunlight is ideal. Avoid prolonged direct sun, as this can scorch the leaves.
💧- Allow the top inch or two of soil to dry out between waterings. Water more regularly during spring and summer, but reduce in winter. Take care not to overwater, as the thick leaves store moisture and can rot if kept too wet.
🌡️- Ideal temperatures are 15-27°C. She prefers a warm, stable environment and should be kept away from cold draughts and sudden temperature changes.
🪴- Use a well-draining compost, such as a mix with added bark or perlite. Repot only when necessary, as Hoyas prefer to be slightly rootbound. Best done every 1-2 years during the growing season.
🌸- With the right conditions, she may produce clusters of small, star-shaped, highly fragrant flowers.
🐾- Pet friendly.
