Impatiens morsei Velvetea

Impatiens morsei 'Velvetea is an unusual tropical foliage plant admired for its deep green, velvety leaves marked with striking silver veining and rich burgundy undersides. Native to Vietnam, this rare houseplant has a soft, almost quilted texture that gives it a luxurious appearance. Its compact growth and dramatic foliage make it a beautiful choice for indoor plant collections, terrariums, or shaded tropical-style planting outdoors during warmer months.

☀️- She thrives in bright, indirect light or partial shade. Avoid strong direct sunlight, as this can scorch the delicate leaves and fade the colouring. A warm, shaded spot indoors is ideal.

💧- Prefers evenly moist soil. Water when the top inch or two of soil feels dry, ensuring the compost does not dry out completely. Avoid soggy soil, as this can lead to root rot.

🌡️- Ideal temperatures are 18-26°C. She enjoys warmth and higher humidity, so keep away from cold draughts and dry air. Temperatures below 15°C may cause stress or leaf damage.

🪴- Use a rich, well-draining compost with added perlite or bark for airflow. Repot when roots begin to outgrow the pot, ideally during spring or early summer.

🌿- Suitable as an indoor houseplant year-round or outdoors in shaded areas during warmer months. Protect from cold weather and bring indoors before temperatures drop.
