Labisia Turtle Back

Size: 10.5cm nursery pot

Labisia ‘Turtle Back’ is a compact tropical foliage plant grown for her distinctive patterned leaves. She has a more unusual, collector-plant feel than many everyday houseplants and prefers warm, humid conditions with gentle, indirect light.

☀️ Light
Bright, indirect light is ideal. Avoid strong direct sunshine, which can damage her foliage. A little filtered light will help keep her leaves looking their best.

💧 Watering
Keep the compost lightly moist but never soggy. Water when the surface begins to dry slightly, and allow excess water to drain away. Avoid letting the root ball dry out completely for long periods.

🌡️ Temperature & Humidity
Keep her warm, ideally around 20-28°C. She appreciates higher humidity and may struggle in very dry air, especially near radiators. Avoid cold draughts and sudden temperature changes.

🪴 Potting
Use an airy, moisture-retentive mix that still drains well. A peat-free houseplant compost mixed with perlite and fine bark can work well. Ensure the pot has drainage holes.

✂️ Pruning
Remove damaged or yellowing leaves at the base. She generally needs little pruning.

🌿 Growing Tips
Labisia can be slower growing and more sensitive to changes in conditions than many common houseplants. Keep her in a stable, warm spot and check the compost regularly rather than following a fixed watering schedule.

🐾 Pet Friendly
Reliable pet-safety information for Labisia ‘Turtle Back’ is limited. Keep her out of reach of pets that chew plants rather than assuming she is safe.
