Philodendron ‘Prince of Orange’ is loved for her changing leaf colours. New leaves emerge in bright orange and coppery shades before gradually maturing to yellow-green and then green. Her upright growth habit and colourful new foliage make her a real standout, even in a smaller space.
☀️ Light
Bright, indirect light helps bring out her best colours. Avoid strong direct sunshine, which can scorch the leaves.
💧 Watering
Water when the top couple of centimetres of compost feel dry. Water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain away. Reduce watering during winter, when growth naturally slows.
🌡️ Temperature & Humidity
She prefers temperatures around 18-27°C and appreciates moderate to high humidity. Keep her away from cold draughts and sudden temperature changes.
🪴 Potting
Use a well-draining, airy houseplant mix. A little orchid bark and perlite can help improve airflow around the roots.
✂️ Pruning
Remove yellow or damaged leaves close to the base with clean scissors.
🌿 Growing Tips
Her newest leaves are usually the brightest, so look out for fresh orange growth. Feed lightly during spring and summer to support healthy foliage.
🐾 Not Pet Friendly
Philodendrons contain insoluble calcium oxalates and are toxic to cats and dogs if eaten.
