Radermachera sinica | China Doll Plant

Radermachera Sinica, commonly known as the China Doll Plant, is a graceful, fast-growing houseplant prized for its delicate, glossy, dark green leaves that are finely divided into neat leaflets, giving it an elegant, feathery appearance. Native to the subtropical mountain regions of southern China and Taiwan, it brings a touch of lush sophistication to any indoor space.

☀️ - Radermachera Sinica does best in bright indirect light, ideally near a window that gets plenty of natural daylight without the full force of direct sun. Too little light and it will start dropping leaves fairly quickly, so don't tuck it away in a dark corner.

💧 - Keep the soil consistently moist but never soggy - let the top inch or so dry out between waterings before giving it a thorough drink. In winter, ease off and allow the soil to dry a little more between waterings, as cold wet soil can quickly cause problems.

🌡️ - Aim to keep it somewhere between 16-24°C and away from cold draughts, radiators, or air conditioning vents. Sudden temperature swings are one of its biggest bugbears and can cause rapid leaf drop.

🪴 - Repot every 1-2 years in spring when you notice the roots beginning to crowd the pot. Choose a container just one size up and use a well-draining, peat-free compost to keep it happy and growing well.
