Sedum morganianum 'Burrito'

Sedum morganianum 'Burrito', commonly known as Burro’s Tail or Donkey Tail, is a beautiful trailing succulent loved for its long cascading stems covered in plump, blue-green leaves. Native to Mexico, this charming succulent naturally grows in rocky, dry environments where it enjoys plenty of sunshine and excellent drainage.

‘Burrito’ is a compact, easy-care plant that looks stunning, spilling from hanging pots or trailing over shelves. Its delicate bead-like leaves create a unique texture, making it a favourite for succulent collections and sunny indoor spaces.

☀️- She thrives in bright light and enjoys some gentle direct sun, especially morning or evening sunlight. A bright windowsill is ideal, but avoid sudden exposure to strong midday sun, which can scorch the leaves.

💧- Allow the compost to dry out completely between waterings. Water thoroughly during spring and summer, then reduce watering significantly in winter when growth slows. During the colder months, she may only need a small drink every few weeks. Overwatering is the biggest risk with this succulent.

🌡️- Ideal temperatures are 18-26°C. She prefers warm conditions and good airflow but should be protected from frost and temperatures below 10°C.

🪴- Use a free-draining cactus and succulent compost with added grit or perlite. Repot in spring when the roots become crowded, handling carefully as the leaves detach easily.

✂️- Trim long stems if needed to encourage a fuller shape. Any fallen leaves can sometimes be propagated into new plants by allowing them to callus before placing them on dry succulent compost.

🌿- Best grown indoors in the UK, though she can enjoy a sunny, sheltered spot outdoors during the warmer summer months. Bring her inside before temperatures drop in autumn.
