Kalanchoe orgyalis

Kalanchoe orgyalis is an unusual succulent with upright, paddle-shaped leaves that develop beautiful bronze, copper and green colouring. Her foliage becomes particularly striking in bright light, making her a lovely choice for a sunny windowsill or succulent collection.

☀️ Light
Give her plenty of bright light. She can enjoy several hours of direct sunshine, particularly morning or evening sun. Stronger light can bring out richer colouring in the leaves, although introduce her to intense direct sun gradually.

💧 Watering
Let the compost dry out completely between waterings. Water thoroughly when dry and allow all excess water to drain away. During autumn and winter, water very sparingly as growth slows.

🌡️ Temperature & Humidity
Normal household temperatures are ideal, around 15-25°C. She doesn't need high humidity and prefers dry conditions with good airflow. Protect her from frost and very cold temperatures.

🪴 Potting
Use a cactus and succulent compost with plenty of grit, perlite or pumice for extra drainage. Always use a pot with drainage holes.

✂️ Pruning
Very little pruning is required. Remove dead or damaged leaves and trim flowering stems back once flowering has finished.

🌿 Growing Tips
Bright light is the secret to keeping her compact and bringing out her beautiful coppery tones. Avoid the temptation to water frequently. If you're unsure, it's safer to wait a little longer.

🐾 Not Pet Friendly
Kalanchoe species are toxic to cats and dogs if eaten, so keep her away from pets.
