Triticum Aestivum - Kitty Grass

Kitty Grass is young wheatgrass grown for cats to nibble. It provides a bit of fresh greenery indoors and is simple to care for, although it is usually grown as a short-lived plant rather than a permanent houseplant.

☀️ Light
Place her in a bright spot with plenty of indirect light. A little gentle sunshine is fine, but very strong sun can dry out the compost quickly.

💧 Watering
Keep the compost lightly moist, especially while the grass is actively growing. Water when the surface starts to dry, but don't leave the pot sitting in water. Kitty Grass can dry out quickly, so check it regularly.

🌡️ Temperature & Humidity
Normal indoor temperatures are suitable, ideally around 15-24°C. Average household humidity is fine.

🪴 Potting
A standard peat-free compost is suitable, provided the container has drainage. If your pot has no drainage holes, be particularly careful not to overwater.

✂️ Pruning
Trim the grass if it becomes too long or starts to look untidy. Once it becomes yellow, dry or sparse, it may be time to grow a fresh batch.

Kitty Grass is wheatgrass and is generally grown to be nibbled by cats. Keep it away from pesticides and decorative leaf-shine products, and replace it when it begins to deteriorate.
